A couple weeks ago I did a six day cleanse from Kaeng Raeng. Have you heard of it? It's an all natural detox meal replacement with protein, lots of fiber, and dried fruit. It helps remove toxins, bolster your immune system, and improve digestive health. I wanted to do a cleanse because I was feeling a bit sluggish and my sugar cravings were getting worse! Since it was my first, I wasn't too sure of doing an all liquid one, then I came across this one on Alicia's Silverstone's The Kind Life website.

What I liked about it is that although it was a liquid cleanse you could still eat raw fruits and vegetables. It comes in powder and you mix it with water or you have the option of adding non-dairy milk, juice or you can make a smoothie with ice and fruit. You drink one shake per meal time, 3 times per day. I decided that if I was going to detox, I would just add water. There are three different flavors: mango peach pineapple, blueberry blackberry banana and strawberry raspberry pineapple. My favorite was the blueberry blackberry banana, it even had bits of pieces of bananas and my least favorite was the strawberry raspberry pineapple, but I don't really like raspberries.

My first day wasn't so difficult. I was honestly expecting to feel weak or hungry, but I was full after each shake. I felt a bit of nausea after the first sip so I drank it slowly (as they recommend) and I was fine. The second day was a bit more difficult, I think because that's when I really realized that I couldn't have any cheese or sugar! But I got through it by keeping busy, drinking a lot of water and snacking.

My ultimate test was when we went out to lunch and Brian decided to order a burger and fries. Pretty tempting I must say, but I just sat there and prepared my shake, as you can see below. Brian couldn't believe it!

I loved the results of this cleanse! I have more energy, my skin cleared and glows, my mind is clearer, I feel less bloated and the cravings are a lot less than before. In fact, right after I finished I celebrated my birthday and ate and drank a lot of unhealthy foods but I'm back to eating healthy with ease.
Have you ever done a cleanse? I can't wait to do one again!
