With Valentine's Day in a couple weeks love is definitely in the air, so here's a collection of a few "love" inspired items.

Love begins with you and what better way to love yourself than a shampoo/shower gel/bubblebath from Philosophy, My heart to yours? Of course, you can always treat your love (or yourself) to beautiful and delicious love letter cookies from Elenis (they're delicious!!)

What about some fashion love? Those Alice + Olivia shoes are the perfect heart addition to your Valentine's Day outfit and add a cute necklace like that Pieces one. Perfect! And you can never go wrong with a Gucci patent leather travel case—in red!

Speaking of the word love, have you seen Made by Girl's newest print? Love! Oh, and that Wildfox heart t-shirt is a bold love statement, don't you think?

A World of Flavors & French Cuisine

For Valentine's Day, Brian, Duo (although he slept throughout the meal) and I decided to celebrate at Balthazar, a beautiful French restaurant located in Soho.

It's one of my favorite restaurants in the city. Have you ever been there?

Everything in the menu sounded amazing. I decided to try something I had never had, so I ordered the duck confit with yukon gold potatoes, cipollini onions, wild mushrooms and frisée salad. Sounds great, right? Well, it was delicious!

Brian ordered the steak frites. I'm the one that usually cooks and I don't buy red meat, so below you can see that Brian was super happy with his steak. 

Then my favorite part of every meal—dessert. We had the warm vanilla bread pudding with butterscotch sauce and strawberry sorbet. It was heaven. Look at my face after the first bite. Yes, that good.

The meal was amazing, the place is beautiful, spacious and the service is wonderful. Duo napped the entire time so no bread pudding for him. Can't wait to return! Maybe I'll order that bread pudding again...for Duo, of course.

The outside of the restaurant is beautiful. Look at the building below. Can you see Duo and I sitting in the bench to the right? Yup, that's him still napping.

A Valentine's Day down memory lane

 

This will be our 8th Valentine's day together. I can't believe how fast time flies. We've shared so many moments together and it seems like just yesterday that we first met.

Every Valentine's day has been different. One of my favorites was right after our trip to India. I decided to cook Indian food from scratch. It took forever! By the time everything was done we were falling asleep. We laugh to this day about it.

What I love about Brian is that he's not afraid of showing his love. He's a true romantic. We love to go down memory lane, look at old pictures and talk about all our adventures. 

Valentine's Day is a day where we get to celebrate love. Celebrating love doesn't just mean a romantic candlelit dinner. It means celebrating every person you love. It's a day where we can share our love— with a smile, a flower, a hug and by saying I love you.
