One of the best things about living in NYC is the abundance of art. I love art and living here really feeds my art addiction. A few weekends ago we decided to head to Chelsea to the Paul Kasmin gallery for the David LaChapelle's exhibit Land Scape.
David LaChapelle is an American commercial and fine art photographer, music video director, film director, and artist. He is mostly known for his fine art photography and has a unique way of combining hyper-realistic aesthetic with social messages.
He's photographed the covers of Italian Vogue, French Vogue, Vanity Fair, GQ, Rolling Stone and i-D, and personalities such as Tupac Shakur, Madonna, Britney Spears, Eminem, Philip Johnson, Lance Armstrong, Pamela Anderson, Lil’ Kim, Uma Thurman, Elizabeth Taylor, David Beckham, Paris Hilton, Jeff Koons, Leonardo DiCaprio, Hillary Clinton and Muhammad Ali.
His first job as a photographer was at 17 years old when he met Andy Warhol, who offered him a position at Interview magazine. Amazing, right?
Hope you enjoyed our visit and a peek into David LaChapelle's art!
