Today's inspiration is from artist Nicoletta Ceccoli. She is a surrealist fairy tale illustrator who currently lives in the Republic of San Marino. She studied animation at the Institute of Art In Urbino, Italy. Many books have been published with her beautiful illustrations. Enjoy!
Today's inspiration is from contemporary artist Michael Moebius. He is a German artist and photographer currently living and working in the US. Inspired by the pin-ups of Alberto Vargas he began his art career. He's been part of major exhibitions throughout the United States and his collector base and publishers include Playboy, Procter & Gamble, Laura Biagiotti, Vogue, Vanity Fair and more. Enjoy!
Today's inspiration is from artist Seonna Hong. She is an American artist currently living and working in Los Angeles. Her work as a background painter has appeared in animation for television and motion pictures, most notably in the Nickelodeon (TV channel) series, My Life as a Teenage Robot, for which she received an Emmy Award in 2003. She has had exhibits in Los Angeles, New York, the Pacific Northwest, and Tokyo, Japan. I love how her work takes you to a serene, mysterious dreamlike place. Enjoy!
Today's inspiration is from pop-surrealist artist Mab Graves. She is an American artist and illustrator who is currently living and working in Indianapolis. She has shown in galleries both nationally and internationally. I love her work because it's inspired by fairy tales and classic literature which bring those childhood memories back. Enjoy!
This past weekend Duo, my friend Aaron and I headed to the Lower East Side to take a peek at the Black Moon exhibit at Sloan Fine Art gallery. It was a group show featuring dark and chilling art (perfect for Halloween) which included works from Jessicka Addams, Elizabeth McGrath and two of my favorite artists Camille Rose Garcia and Marion Peck. I believe the above painting by Marion Peck was inspired by Albrecht Dürer's "The Four Witches".
It was definitely an interesting and fun show, and I'm glad I was able to see it since Sunday was the last day. I love seeing my favorite artists work in person—that's the beauty of living in New York City.
I love taking Duo to galleries and museums. I feel that I'm slowly introducing him to a world that I'm so inspired by. On several occasions we've even stopped by galleries on our way to the park. I love that about raising him in the city!
