South of the Las Vegas Strip, near Jean Dry Lake is a magical art installation by Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone—Seven Magic Mountains. Seven towers of neon colored stacked boulders standing between thirty and thirty five feet high. This past weekend Brian and I decided to head over to the large scale artwork in the middle of the Mojave desert. I can truly say it is amazing!
The contrast between the natural landscape and the colorful totems, is what makes it magical. It's like arriving to a mirage after miles of desert. All seven towers are different, each one carefully created to make a perfect collection.
We arrived late in the afternoon, which was perfect. There weren't many visitors and the sunset was gorgeous. I love the picture below with the moon. A very magical moment.
If you're in the area, I really recommend visiting. The sculptures will be up for a only a couple of years, until May 2018. So there's still time to experience it.
Thanks for following along!
