Killer Heels: The Art of the High Heeled Shoe

This past week we headed to the Brooklyn Museum to see their latest exhibit, Killer Heels: The Art of the High-Heeled Shoe.  It includes designs from Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik, Chanel, Salvatore Ferragamo, Alexander McQueen, André Perugia, Prada, Elsa Schiaparelli and Vivienne Westwood—to name a few.

The best part of the collection is that it not only houses contemporary shoes, but also historical shoe designs from the sixteenth-century. Amazing, every girls dream! Did you see those rainbow platforms?

And of course, Christian Louboutin made a statement with the stiletto ballet shoe "Fetish ballerinas" and platform Mary Janes "Printz".

Some of the designs were straight from the catwalk, others had been used by artists like Lady Gaga. Shoes with crow wings? A bit too much, right?

Overall there were about 160 designs and each one was a piece of art. Some of the shoes were very elaborate and some simple and classic. It was a great exhibit and if you love shoes (as I do), this is definitely the exhibit for you!

If you're in NY, don't miss this exhibit, it runs until February 15!

Be a Rainbow

We all have good and bad days. We all need each other, and one of the most beautiful things you can do for another is to be a light to their darkness. 

When you walk around life with an attitude of "how can I help you?", you will have the opportunity to be a "rainbow in someone's cloud".

By giving to others a smile, kind words or just a hand to hold, you are opening an energy wave of love that life will provide when you need it too. It's a cycle that can only work when coming from the heart.

A September Instagram World

It's October! September was a month full of emotions, family and fun...

 

Here are a few images from my instagram for the month of September. Take a look!

1. A collection of art in the Lower East side. 
2. A gorgeous day at Central Park.
3. At Alice's Tea Cup in the Upper East Side having tea (at 7pm)!
4. An amazing night at the Lucky Magazine + Movado event
5. My morning with Mate (yerba mate), J. Crew and berries. Perfect!
6. I flew to California for a few days. Sadly because my dear Aunt had passed away.
7. While in California, I got to spend time with my beautiful sisters and cousin. 
8. A coffee break at Doughnut Plant. Mole and Tres leches donuts!
9. My Bff Aaron moved to NYC this past month. Here we are enjoying a very NY moment at Lombardi's Pizza!
10. Duo and I at the Central Park Zoo. Such a fun day!
