This past week we were fortunate to attend the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibition, The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk in the Brooklyn Museum. There were seven themes since he emerged as a designer in the 1970s. All I have to say is that it was incredible! If you, like me, love fashion, art, attention to detail and originality, well this exhibition had it all!
When you first walked in you were greeted by Jean Paul Gaultier himself. You see, the mannequins talked, sang and winked at you. Yes, they were animated! But your eyes did not leave the phenomenal artistry in the designs. They were perfection!
There were around 140 haute couture and prêt-à-porter ensembles, from the designer’s earliest to his most recent collections.
This crochet dress was worn by Kylie Minogue in her “Like A Drug” video for the X2008 Tour. It's part of his Virgins Collection, haute couture spring/summer 2007. Look at the details!

Jean Paul Gaultier also designed furniture, as you can see below. He is a designer that has always inspired me because of his innovative designs and trendsetting character. Truly amazing!
