Happy Summer!

Happy official first day of summer! Time to go outdoors and have some fun! Head to the beach, family time, fun friend gatherings, nature... 

There is so much to enjoy during the summer, but most importantly, take a moment everyday and look around. Feel the sun on your face and be thankful for all the beauty that surrounds us. We live in a beautiful place and we should be grateful! 

I love summer!

NYC: Museum Mile Festival

Last week Brian, Duo and I headed uptown to the Museum Mile Festival, a museum block party where for three hours you have free access to ten museums, music, street art for the kids and lots and lots of people! Duo loved it all! He got to paint the street with chalk and walk around. No stroller means a lot of fun!

We also met up with our friends Nachi and Mimi (or Meme), we had coffee and pastries and then began our way to see which museum we would get to see. In a period of three hours and hundreds of people you choose one.

Every museum was packed! Obviously, the bigger ones like the Metropolitan and the Guggenheim were a no. Lines were at least two blocks long. So we stood in line for the Neue Gallerie. We were probably in line for an hour...and then it closed right before our eyes. Noooo! We did get free passes for next time, but most importantly we had a good laugh! 

Museum Mile Festival and no museums. Ha! Well until next year!  Have you ever heard or been to this festival? Is there something similar where you live?

A World of Glamour and Bettie

Bettie Page has always been the queen of pin-up, and will probably always remain that way. Not many have impacted pop culture as she did with her iconic look. 

Let's be a bit daring and try to channel the look by starting with bold red lipstick, a fabulous fragrance and nothing says more Bettie Page than a leopard bikini! Add some leather sandals and a bit of shine with that bag to keep your makeup.

Now you have the beginning of a fun ensemble...time for a few pictures perhaps?

Happy National Picnic Day!

Today is National Picnic Day! Yay! Although you might not be heading out on a picnic in the middle of the week, here are a few picnic items to get you ready for your next outing.

This past Saturday a few friends and I had a picnic in Central Park. Inspired by my friend Mimi's basket, I decided to go for a non traditional one. She was sporting an emerald tote (similar to the one above) and it looked great!

Add a graphic blanket, some colorful bamboo utensils, a glass water bottle, plates and that cute lunch bag and you'll be ready to go. Now you just need the yummy snacks. Enjoy!
