An amazing artist that I really admire is Audrey Kawasaki. She was born and currently resides in Los Angeles, California. She is second generation Japanese-American. Her style is a mixture of Erotic, Art Nouveau and Japanese Manga. Her art is very sensual and captivating. I just love how mysterious and bold it is.
She paints with oils on wood panels using the natural grain of the wood texture as the skin of her figures. She considers herself more a drawer than a painter.
Audrey has had many solo and group shows around the world, in places such as Italy, England, Canada, Australia and Japan and has been featured in many magazines. She also sells prints, but they sell out immediately. Can't wait to get my hands on one!
Below you can see her in her studio. She is so inspiring and so talented. I was fortunate to go to one of her shows here in NYC, it's always so amazing to be able to see the original paintings.
